36″ x 48″, oil / cold wax, 2″ gallery-wrapped canvas

My latest Marilyn painting, the iconic 1954 NYC scene in “The 7 Year Itch”, where a breeze from the subway below lifts her skirt. This one is titled “Windblown” (36×48, oil / cold wax). It is my 7th painting of the “blonde bombshell” and although she was a troubled soul who seemed lost in her fame, she always leaves me feeling, as Elton John sang:
“I would have liked to have known you but I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did…”
